Education

One of the primary missions of The Green Team is to reach out to all members of the Mahoning County community with an important message: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Don't Litter.

The Green Team has many educational programs and activities that target everyone from toddlers to seniors. We also sponsor many participatory programs that allow Mahoning County residents to actively help improve the environment we all share. For more information on any of these programs, please contact The Green Team's Education Department at 303-740-2060.

Green Team Composting Seminars

One of our most popular programs. We'll demonstrate the benefits of composting, show you how to get started, and also provide many of the materials you'll need. There is a fee to attend and receive a new backyard composting bin. Call Kim Lewis at 330-740-2060 for more details and to get registered for the next composting seminar.

Pay As You Throw

If you're interested in saving trash collection costs by generating less waste through recycling and composting, we have information that can help families go on a variable rate or Pay As You Throw program. Several private trash collection companies offer incentives to residents who generate less waste. Call 330-740-2060 for more details. Learn how to cut your trash collection costs in half!
